Statements

Ambition is a positive, desirable trait in a person. Ambition to me means that some works hard to achieve something or a goal. It can be a desirable trait just when the person is not trying so hard that they cut people out of their life. Someone can be ambitious to get a task done and that is good when that task is important. Sometimes ambition can take over someone's life and that is not a good thing. People need to enjoy and have a life.

If you are in a position of power, you are happy. Power does not equal happiness. I am happy with my life that I have now and I barely have any power. Like I don't have to be the president to be happy, to be happy I just need loving friends which I have. 

Hits and Misses

My all of writing was a hit or miss to me. I either wrote something I thought was good or I just wrote to have something done. I bet that is the same for others and that they felt the same way. I had a few good and bad one throughout the year some of my bog post were  the best.

Some of my favorites are Someone, Pit Bulls,  Frigidness, Cinematography, Elvis, and Woody. Those are my favorites because I felt passionate about those writings. I also like the one about how music affects my writing. Some of my misses are one when didn't really want to write about it. The only ones that are hits are about things that I wanted to write about and are my own.

Happiness

My happiness comes when I am riding. Riding is make me feel free from all worries, it just me and my horse. Side note, I don't own a horse but I ride Woody and I feel like he is mine. Back to what I was saying, no worries no trouble. I am only thinking about getting the correct diagonal and lead or knowing my course and enjoying it.

Another thing that brings me happiness is spending time with my friends. Some of my best memories are with them. One is when we all went to laser tag instead of the Sadie's dance except for Dariah and Ryan, she went to the dance and Ryan was sick, but it was an amazing time. We were going against each other and not random people and at one point in a game we were all on the ground dying laughing. Friends bring the most joy and happiness out of me.

Challenging Book

Purple Hibiscus to me is not that challenging. But that is to me it could be really hard for someone else. It might not seem to challenging because I am somewhat enjoying reading it.

For me annotations are not fun to do but they keep me focused on the book. I sometimes have a hard time focusing on what I am doing or if I get bored, and annotations help me keep busy and have something to do. Sometimes they are a drag to I'll admit that but they are something for me to do.

News Post

The London attack was carried out by one man, as far as the police know. There are two other men being held of suspicion for aiding the attacker. When the attacker drove in to a crowds, he ended up killing three of them, then later stabbed and killed one policeman. Later the attacker was shot by police and died. The attacker was to have said to used encryption on WhatsApp to communicate. The attack was to have said to have lasted for eighty two seconds. He was trying to attack the people in the House of Parliament. This attack injured five hundred people from twelve different countries.

I decided to write about this even though it is a horrible thing that happened is because we need to know what is happening in other countries. A stereotypical view of Americans is that we have no clue about the rest of the world, and I think that we should try to change that. We need to know and help other who are hurting out there in the world.

Learning Reflection

So far this year I have learned that I need to not have any distractions to be productive. If I have some sort of distraction, I will get stuck in it and forget about what I should be doing. I have to stay focused on what is going on and what I should be doing.

With that though in mind I am going to work on getting less distracted on the last quarter. I am going to push through to the end of the year. I am going to think about what I have coming up after like our family trip to the Grand Canyon, Vegas, and LA. Work more, study more, and try my hardest.

Music Affects Writing

Depending on the music I am listening to. One of my previous post, Someone, is about a person's perspective on getting stalked and dying. When I was writing that I was listening to Mercy by Shawn Mendes and that made me write about someone asking why me.

When I write while listening to my music, I feel more connected to my thought and what I am writing down. I zone in and concentrate on my piece or homework. While I am writing this I am listen to up music on my Spotify which made me think about all of this. Music helps everyone through their hard times. Music can change people's mood in a few seconds. It can make them cry, joyful, mad, and dance like no one is watching them.

Mardi Gras

For once in awhile we stayed home for Mardi Gras which we haven't done in maybe 5 years. I was nice to stay home and not go out and do something everyday. I actually got to go Spanish Town parade which was a lot of fun. I got spend time with my friends Olivia and Stephanie that I don't see as often as I used too. The next day my family and Olivia and her mom went down to New Orleans to catch some parades. We caught Thoth and Bacchus. We soon learned when we got there that when a float comes by you have to watch it because they throw as hard and as far as they can. I was scary at times because the people in front of us had a small baby. But it was a great time.

Later on Thursday, I went to a Twenty Øne Piløts concert in New Orleans which was the best thing that happened this week. It was my second concert of their's that I have been to, but this one was better. Then though were were farish away Tyler ended up not being that far from where we were at one point in the concert. I was one of the best nights of my life and I did not get home and to sleep until 1:30am.
On Friday my parents and I drove all the way to Shenandoah, TX which is just outside of Houston. We drove there of IEA Regionals which is a high school team horse show. It was only one day sadly and I didn't place, but it was a lot of fun. The show area was at The Great Southwest Equestrian Center which in my opinion was a nice place to show at. After the show we went to Charlotte's Saddlery and I got a cute bonnet for Woody and my first saddle pad.

My Shot from Hamiltion soundtrack

My Shot by Lin-Manuel Miranda uses end rhyme starting with country and hungry. Going on to astonish and polish and flame and name. In the third stanza has end rhyme also endlessly and relentlessly and spree and free. In stanza six metaphor is used because Hamilton says, "Hey yo, I'm just like my country/ I'm young, scrappy and hungry" in that Hamilton is comparing himself to the US's state being like him at that moment. 

He also uses imagery in the songs to make out some parts so people could see the musical or image it their own way. He also uses meter to displace the line that are shouted and other that are said softer in the song. This whole song is a narrative. This song is just one narrative out of 46 in the whole musical because it is telling about Alexander Hamilton's life.

Vocabulary

One of my favorite musical sound tracks is from Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda. If you do not know what Hamilton is you should look it up right now and listen to the soundtrack. It is a musical about Alexander Hamilton.

Hamilton was a child prodigy who is a renowned founding father.  He supported the covenant. The musical is amazing I have not see it live, but I really want to. Lin-Manuel Miranda made the soundtrack to where people could buy it and know what is going on with out actually  having to see it, which is super smart.

Research

I have strengthen my ability to use a database and cite the sources. At first I did not know that in databases that some have the citation already. That already save me time and effort in doing the citations for my sources. I also help me not get bored with doing and not procrastinating.

Another thing I found helpful was noodletools help me stay organized. With it I was able to put my cards into groups to make my outline. It helped me keep my things in order so I knew who things were going to work out.  

Reading Reponse

I have read to page 209, but I will not say any spoilers. I am liking this book so far. I is an interesting book to read about Junior's life. I like how the author transitions between time. Like how is moves from one point to another.

Junior doing good so far at Reardan. Its hard for me to remember since I am so far ahead. What I remember is that his sister in now in Montana married to an man. Junior also meet Penelope an Gordy for the first time. His new life at Reardan is just starting.

Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

This is an interesting book so far. I read up to the 53 pages so I haven't gotten ahead. It's a good book so far what's to me sounds interesting. I can tell it is written by a 14 year old or narrated by a 14 year old.

The kid is going to have a hard time I can tell already. He has had a hard life. and it seems like it might only get harder. I think that him and his teacher will become friends, like on of those relationships where you and a teacher are best friends.

Frigidness

The winter brings in cold air. That cold air is want keeps people inside or bring them outside. People can feel it to their bones and throughout their entire body. The cold makes people wear their jumpers and trousers. It can bring people together, bring love to strangers. The cold is a way for people to free and alive.

Some like the cold others do not, it brings mixed feelings. It make it good for a boring run but, bad to those who sit around. It makes people want to say inside all day and do nothing. The fear of being cold can be over with once they step out side and see the beauty of the cold and love of it. It is the best when it is only about 10 degrees Celsius. It not too cold to where people don't want to tough the cold air but nice enough to feel energized and wonderful.

Learned

I learn that high is fun but it is a bit like I thought it was going to be. I just need to work hard on everything. I need to put 110% effort into every bit of homework and class work. I need to work on this more. I feel like I procrastinate some but I need to stop.

If I have something due I need to get started on it sooner than later. Last semester I put some things off and it wasn't the best choice. I need to start projects not long after they were given. My goal is to try not to procrastinate as much.

Research Topic

My topic is on Northern Ireland and why is stay apart of the United Kingdom and some conflicts they had. I was interested about this because I like the U.K. and I noticed that Northern Ireland is apart of the U.K., and I have always wondered why that is. Most people I told that there is a Northern Ireland didn't knew that it existed. Most people think Ireland is one country but it is two.

I wanted to go in depth of why is it that way. In doing so I learn about all of the struggles and hard ships they went through to get to where they are. I learn that Northern Ireland didn't split, they stayed and that interested me.

Someone

Ext. Night

I man is walking down a dark alley alone. He hears the sound of glass breaking and turns around fast. He starts to run, going faster and faster with each step. His is breathing gets heavier and heavier, he came to an immediate halt. There is a figure in front of him, but he can't tell who or what it is. He turns and runs as fast as he has ever run. He runs into a dark building. He leans against something to catch his breath. Next thing he knows, the figure is in front of him. He knows who it is. He asks why, why this is happening, why me? The room is lit by a blinding light. He slowly opens his eyes and he sees clouds everywhere and everything is white.

Research Paper

My research is going well I might need to find some new sources that talk more about the split of Northern Ireland split from Southern Ireland. So far it seems to be going well. I might have some difficulty finishing the 35 note cards this weekend. The reason why is because I have a horse show all this weekend and I have to be at the show for 6:40 both days and I won't be getting back to the hotel until 5 or 6 p.m., and today is my birthday, Sunday is my parents' anniversary, and Tuesday is my dad's birthday so I have a really busy weekend ahead.

Be side all of that I think I will do fine with the note cards. I might go to the writing center a lot when it come to writing the actual paper. I feel a bit pressured to do well this semester since I did ok on the last paper. I hope that I do well on this but just know I am trying my hardest. If my hardest isn't good enough well then I can't do anything else.
